A trabant of the earth - the double system Earth & Moon

In contrast to all other objects in the sky, which only seem to turn around the earth, our satellite is actually moving around the earth. Specifically, the earth and the moon move around each other because they form a "two-body system". This means that both bodies rotate around a common center of gravity.
